The Douglas County Democratic Committee is offering voters the opportunity to meet their Democratic candidates and get to know their platforms this Saturday, April 11, during the committee’s general meeting.
The candidate fair will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Julian’s Episcopal Church in Douglasville. Those interested are encouraged to register at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/934460/.
Invited campaigns include those running for county-wide office, including chief magistrate judge, as well as district seats.

- U.S. House of Representatives, District 6
- State Senate, District 28
- State Senate, District 30
- Georgia House, District 40
- Georgia House, District 64
- Georgia House, District 66
- Board of Commissioners, District 1

- Board of Commissioners, District 4
- Board of Education, District 2
- Board of Education, District 3
- Board of Education, District 4
Guests can check the My Voter Page (MVP) at the Georgia Secretary of State’s office to see which district represents them. They can also print a voter registration form from the site to bring with them to the event. Voters can find the MVP site at mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/.
“Candidates are knocking doors and attending town halls, trying to get in front of voters,” said Tony Montcalm, chair of the Douglas County Democratic Committee. “For those who want a chance to meet face-to-face with the people on the ballot in the May 19 primary, here’s where you’ll find a lot of the candidates and a chance to learn about their positions.”
The Douglas County Board of Elections and Registration (BOER) will offer early voting from April 27 to May 15, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., at:
- Boundary Waters Activity Center
- Douglas County Courthouse
- Deer Lick Park
- Dog River Library
- Lithia Springs Senior Center
- Old Douglas County Courthouse
- Woodie Fite Senior Center
In addition, the BOER will offer Saturday voting on May 2 and May 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at:

Along with local races, Democratic voters will also be choosing a gubernatorial candidate, as well as supporting the campaigns for two Democratic Party-endorsed candidates running to unseat Republican justices on the Georgia Supreme Court.
